منال العالم تتوج بمنصب “سفير النوايا الحسنة” لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي للأمم المتحدة في الأردن
تم اختيار الشيف منال العالم سفيرة للنوايا الحسنة لبرنامج الأغذية العالمي للأمم المتحدة في الأردن، ويعد هذا اللقب هو لقب تشريفي تكليفي يمنح للشخصيات المعروفة والمؤثرة في المجتمع مثل منال العالم؛ للاستعانة بقدرتهم في التأثير على المجتمعات لمكافحة الجوع ومعالجة قضايا المجتمع المختلفة.
أن “سفيرة النوايا الحسنة” هو منصب تقوم المنظمات باختيار من يشغله بناءً على دوره الإيجابي والفعال في المجتمع، وسوف تقوم منال العالم بالترويج لقضايا وجهود منظمة الأمم المتحدة كالأعمال الخيرية أو السفر للعديد من المناطق حول العالم دعما لجهود المنظمة ومكافحة الجوع.
وقد زارت منال العالم فى عام 2018 مخيم الزعتري للاجئين السوريين في الأردن للتعرف عن قرب على طبيعة حياتهم ومناقشة أمور اللاجئين من أجل تعزيز الوعي كأحد أنشطة برنامج الأغذية العالمي. وفى عام 2019 قامت بزيارة ميدانية لأهم مشاريع برنامج الأغذية العالمي في محافظة المفرق شمال الأردن لدعم مشاريع البرنامج وتجميع التبرعات لصالح مشروع التغذية المدرسية في الأردن الذى يهدف إلى تعزيز صحة الطلبة وتأمين وجبات صحية لهم كبديل عن وجبات التغذية المدرسية الأخرى.
وفى عام 2017 تم اختيار منال العالم من أكثر عشر سيدات عربيات تأثيراً ومتابعة على شبكات التواصل الاجتماعي من قبل مجلة “فوربس”، كما تم اختيارها فى عام 2016 الأكثر تأثرا عبر مواقع التواصل الاجتماعي من قبل شركة “بي بي جي كون آند وولف”.
ومن الجدير بالذكر أن الشيف منال العالم واحدة من شركاء برنامج الأغذية العالمي للأمم المتحدة وهو أكبر منظمة إنسانية في العالم لمكافحة الجوع، حيث يقدم البرنامج المساعدات الغذائية في حالات الطوارئ، كما يعمل مع المجتمعات للقضاء على الجوع وتحسين الوضع التغذوي بحلول العام 2030.
Manal Alalem has been appointed National Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in Jordan. WFP Goodwill Ambassador is an honorific title or a title of honor for an Ambassador of Goodwill.
Ambassadors of Goodwill are usually chosen well-known personalities from the world who commit to contribute to WFP’s efforts to raise awareness of important social problems and solutions and to fight hunger worldwide. Implementing the use of celebrities as ambassadors has always been a great concept for any organization. The overall image of an ambassador is to obviously attract attention from people as chef Manal Alalem. So in her role as WFP Goodwill Ambassador, she will use her platforms to showcase WFP’s work and engage her millions of followers in advocating for a Zero Hunger world in 2030.
In 2018, Manal Alalem visited the Zaatari Refugee Camp in Jordan, the largest camp hosting Syrian refugees, to get a close look at their natural lives and discuss refugee matters in order to enhance awareness as one of the activities of the World Food Programme. In 2019, she made a field visit to the most important projects of the World Food Programme in the Mafraq governorate in Jordan, to support the projects of the program and collect donations for the school feeding project in Jordan, which aims to improve student health and nutrition.
In 2017, Manal Alalem was selected as one of the ten most influential Arab women in social media, by “Forbes” magazine, and in 2016, she was chosen as the most Influential woman on social media sites by “BPG Cohn & Wolfe”.
Chef Manal Alalem is one of the partners of the United Nations (UN) World Food Programme (WFP), it is one of the world’s largest humanitarian organizations fighting hunger worldwide. In emergencies, it distributes food where it is needed to save the lives of victims of war, civil conflict and natural disasters. After the cause of the emergency passes, it focuses on development, using food to help communities rebuild their lives and to reach Zero Hunger in 2030.
